With as much as HALF of a product's carbon footprint coming from it's disposal or end of life, re-usability really is the last word in sustainability.
The manufacture of plastic produces 4KG of Co2E per 1KG of plastic. However with end of life taken into account the figure is closer to 6KG of Co2E per 1KG of plastic.
The manufacture of silicone produces 6.5KG of Co2E per 1KG of silicone. It's infinite re-usability provides it's reductions in Carbon footprint.

Using this data we compared the Co2E produced when buying a new 10X pack of conventional plastic meal prep containers every year to reusing a pack of Prep Cubes year after year in the above graph.
Anybody who has used the old-school plastic meal prep containers will be able to confirm that assuming each 10-pack will last an entire year is very generous! If ordered online they will often be delivered damaged - before you have even cooked a single meal! However for the demonstrative purposes here, we decided to stick with 1 pack per year. And this is just a comparison between plastic containers and the Prep Cubes. If you were to carry out the same comparison against all of the other products our cubes perform the role of then their accumulative eco-friendliness becomes even more apparent.
